Colour ... from the floor up

The importance of colour in interior design should never be underestimated. The colour and finishes, ie the last 5% of an interior scheme accounts for about 80% of how we perceive and experience the space.

In a home, colour starts on the floor. The floor is often the hardest (or most expensive) part of a room to change, so it often dictates what colours will work best on the other surfaces.

At Funk & Feng we choose colours that are cohesive to the furniture, artworks and belongings that you love and wish to keep. There's no point creating a whole new colour scheme for one room if it's going to clash with the rest of the house.

Good colour work is usually about balance. There may be a colour missing in your home or office, that just needs to be present in a small amount to make all of the other colours look balanced and fresh again.

As in life, so in colour - opposites attract!

Blues make orange appear warmer, whilst a little bit of red can bring a green room to life.
